Unc Football Jersey, The East Carolina University (commonly referred to as ECU) Pirates and the North Carolina State University (commonly Unc Football Jersey referred to as NC State) Wolf Pack have a storied college football rivalry that dates back decades. The first time that these two neighboring football programs squared off was on October 10, 1970. The game was held in Raleigh, North Carolina and the home team North Carolina State University squad was victorious by a final score of 23-6.
Since the inaugural contest between these nearby schools was played in 1970 the location of the rivalry game has predominately shifted from the ECU home field in Greenville, North Carolina to the NC State home football stadium in Raleigh, North Carolina. When the game is played at the ECU campus the players compete in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium which can hold a capacity crowd of 50,000 screaming fans. Conversely, when the football game between these two institutions of higher learning is played around the North Carolina State campus in Raleigh the game is held at the Carter-Finley Stadium which seats 57,583 comfortably.
Much of the anticipation surrounding this game between non-conference rivals is due to the fact that these two schools are roughly 75 miles apart. A distance of only 75 miles is for all intents and purposes a neighboring school by large college campus standards. The fact that students from either school can jump in their cars and be tailgating at the opposing campus in less than an hour and half is by itself enough of an ingredient to build a sustainable rivalry.
Because of the close proximity of these two universities many students from both Unc Football Jersey schools have friends that they went to high school with that now attend the rival college. These folks mark this game on their calendars as a date to catch up with old friends in addition to being able to enjoy some quality college football.
An interesting dynamic about this rivalry is that these two college football programs are each in different conferences. East Carolina University plays in Conference USA which ranks the University of Houston and the University of Central Florida amongst its most competitive football programs. North Carolina State Unc Football Jersey University on the other hand is a proud member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) which boasts the University of Miami and Florida State as a couple of its strongest football programs.
East Carolina and NC State have played each other a total of 26 times. Of those 26 instances the games were twice played at neutral sites (in 1996 and 2004) and one meeting was actually in a bowl game (Peach Bowl in 1992). Over the 26 contests North Carolina State has the series lead by a count of 26-10.
